After completing the assembly for the motor connections to the ESC, we now have a drone that is capable of flight! We are able to control the motors manually using the BetaFlight Configurator software.
We were able to verify that all of the motors are undamaged, and connected correctly, with solid connections that are not at risk of a short circuit. We were also able to validate our mechanical assembly, as we can see that the frame does not deform under standard loading conditions.
Next step is to get the drone in the air, which involves creating a bluetooth receiver, using an Arduino, and hooking it up to the flight controller. Doing this should allow us to request flight variables, like throttle, yaw, pitch, roll, etc, remotely. We have been successful in requesting these variables in a tethered state.
